How much does bodywork and paint cost?
Every repair is different based on the following factors; customer goals, colour, and repairability. Reds tend to be more expensive than most colours, some substrates are more difficult to manipulate than others, and so on.
After we assess your vehicle, you will receive a detailed estimate via email that outlines the price and work required to achieve the finish you're looking for.
How long does a repair take?
Any single panel spot repair can be done same day.
Larger damage that requires more meticulous bodywork, or multi panel damage can take longer.
This will be outlined in your estimate.
How to care for fresh paint?
While the clear coat feels cured to the touch, it is still very fresh.
As a general rule, we ask that you don't cover or coat a freshly painted panel for atleast 30 to 90 days. This means no car covers of any kind, no ceramic coatings, waxes, or sealants.
During these 30 to 90 days, the clear coat continues to cure and needs to be able to breathe. If any of the above is done prior to this full cure being achieved, it can result in failure of the repair.
Does all damage have to be painted?
No, not everything requires re painting.
An easy way to know if a scratch requires paint is to run your nail across it. If you can feel it and your nail catches the scratch, then it will need paint to fully repair it.
These deeper scratches can be improved with wetsanding and polishing, but will never be invisible.
